It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jane Grant, after a courageous and graceful battle with cancer on December 23, 2023 at the age of 70. She was born August 10, 1953 to John and Susanne Barber in Asheville, NC.
Jane was tenacious throughout her life. Facing any hardship, she never backed down, or looked away. She was kind, witty, loyal and charming. Her outpouring of unconditional love made a lasting impact on everyone she knew. Her unique fashion style was one of her hallmarks that depicted her vivacious and delightful personality. Jane’s accomplishments throughout her life were vast, but she always regarded her family as her greatest achievement. She was a beloved and devoted mother and grandmother.
Jane was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church where she was an usher and member of the Daughters of the King.
Jane is survived by her husband Jerry Grant, children; Jackson (Melisa) Turbyfill and Amelia (Greg) Smith, stepson Jay (Craig) Grant-Zodikoff, brother John (Dene) Barber and grandchildren, Liam, Evren, Walker and Cole who affectionately know her as Queenie, and step grandchildren Jesse and Avery.
A celebration of Jane’s life will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church starting at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 2 with a reception to follow in the church’s Tuton Hall.
