Nancy Jane Penland, 70, passed away Friday, February 25, 2022, at her home.

Jane was born July 25, 1951, in Buncombe County to Margaret Ferguson Plemmons Williams and the late Lloyd Plemmons. She had worked with her husband, Doug, as an antiques dealer.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of nearly 46 years, Doug Penland; sons, Raymond David Ballew and Roger Eugene Ballew; step-daughters, Sondra Valerie Struble and Angela Michelle Plemmons; nine grandchildren; and brother, Jim Plemmons.

A celebration of Jane’s life will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Friends and family will be invited to share stories and memories of Jane during the service.

Her family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brother Wolf Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 8195, Asheville, NC 28814.
