Janet Gayle Hensley, 64, of Weaverville, died Monday, January 9, 2017. A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Robert Paul Hensley and Dorothy Proffit Hensley. Surviving are her son, Scott Anders and wife Amber; sisters Judy Ramsey and husband Bobby, and Loyce Barber and husband Jimmy; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday at Middle Fork Baptist Church. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.

  1. Jay and I were so sad to hear of Gayle’s passing. We will remember her for her music, her laughter, her friendship, her deep love for her family and her son, Scott and the love between them, but most of all we will remember her for her deep dedication to the Lord.

  2. So sorry for the void now filling your heart. Your Mom was a very special lady and will be missed by all. We enjoyed her playing her keyboard or guitar at Bethel Baptist Church some years ago. She also sang some with some other ladies at Bethel. Scott and Amber know that we are praying for the family. God comfort you and give you peace during these days..

  3. Scott & Amber I cannot express how much I will miss your Mother my dear friend for over 30 years. I am heartbroken. We emailed very often sometimes every day. She was a person you could trust to listen and never tell what you confided. I did the same for her. She was a true friend . We will miss her so much. We talked often of serving God and how important that was to us. We put God first and he took care of us. When I got discouraged she was there to help me get back in the battle for the Lord and I encouraged her. We love you Praying for you and the family.

  4. May the Lord comfort you as only He can at this time. She was such a sweet lady and you could feel the Spirit of the Lord as we talked at Walmart so many times. We know she is in the presence of Jesus and we will surely see her again.May God bless the family and friends.

  7. I am so sorry to hear about Gayle. I worked with her at AB Emblem and she was truly a great person. She was so very talented in music and art. She will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
