J.B. Hudson, 78, of Fletcher, died Friday, February 1, 2008, at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock. A native of Henderson County, he had been a resident of Fletcher most of his life and was a son of the late Ben and Bell Shipman Hudson. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. He retired from Southern Concrete Materials in 1991. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Willie Mae West Hudson; one son, Ray Hudson and his wife, Melva, of Arden; three granddaughters, Kesha Hudson of Horse Shoe, Chelsey Robinson of Marion and Megan Robinson of Savannah, GA; one great-granddaughter, Kadin Robinson of Marion. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and cousins. Services will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 4, 2008 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Revs. Cecil Robinson, Greg Bell and David Crymble officiating. Interment will follow at Boiling Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Fletcher. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 PM on Sunday, February 3, 2008 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. The family wishes to express appreciation to Elizabeth House for their excellent care.
