Jean “Jan” “Jolly Jaynes”, 79, of Asheville, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Mission Hospital.

A native of Buncombe Co., Jan was a daughter of the late Calvin Hatley Jolly and Kathleen McJukin Jolly.

Jan loved gardening and crafting, and she was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.

Surviving is her husband of 61 years, George F. Jaynes; children, Charles Anthony Jaynes (Tara) of Candler, Patrick Wilson Jaynes of Oakley, and Penelope “Penny” McNicoll (John) of Asheville; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Judy Stevens of Asheville and Joyce Haynes (Robert) of Columbia, SC; and a brother, Bob Jolly (Mildred) of Asheville.

The family will have a gathering of friends & family from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Saturday, November 12, 2022 in the Chapel of Groce Funeral located at 856 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC 28805.
