Jean Laverne Janssen Narciso

Jean Laverne Janssen Narciso, 93, of Asheville, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2023.

Born August 3, 1930 in Kansas City, MO, Jean was a daughter of the late James R. and Gertrude Susan Riedel Janssen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Nicola “Nick” Narciso, and a brother, Kenneth Janssen.

Mrs. Narciso was a former resident of Long Island, NY, Weaverville, NC, and has resided in Asheville for the last 11 years.

Surviving is her daughters, Sharon Creasman (Dennis), Holly Crawford (Dan), and Robin Mertz; seven grandchildren, Chris Kuhn, Jeffrey Stanley, Kimberly Johnston, Michael Mertz, Gregg Ligon, Kyle Ligon and Tyler Wilkie; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Darlis Ward.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Fr. Dean Cesa on Tuesday, October 17 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.

Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Western Carolina State Veteran’s Cemetery.
