Jeannene Oldham Ramsey, 70, of 9 Hensley Rd., Weaverville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 26, 2006 at the her residence.
A Buncombe Co. native, Ms. Ramsey was the daughter of the late Augusta Mae Oldham Hicks and of Charles E. Hicks. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Andrew Conley. Ms. Ramsey was a member of Mt. Bethel Free Will Baptist.
Ms. Ramsey is survived by one daughter, Rebecca (Becky) Conley and husband Chris, of Weaverville; son, Richard A. Ramsey and wife Kris, of Minnesota; brother, Richard Oldham and wife Carol, of Minneapolis, MN; six grandchildren, Deborah Mace, Vernie Ramsey, Samantha Wharton, Amanda Wharton, Trinity Conley, and Gabrielle Conley; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. the Rev. Roy McPeters officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

I’m so sorry to hear about your mother. I know in my heart that she is w/ her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, where she is happy, well and at peace.
Growing up she was like a second mom to me, my only regret was not getting by to see her when I was home visiting.
