Jeffrey Louis Gowan, 42, died unexpectedly Sunday, May 22, 2016.
Born in Asheville, he was a son of Billie Ball Gowan, and the late Louis L. Gowan.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sisters, Debra Dalton, Kimberly Gelso and Regina Proffitt; aunts, Doris McCuiston, Betty Sharpe, Viola Brown and Maude Ayers; and uncle, John Ball.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen Rash officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Billie, I was never so shocked as I seen jeffs obituary in yesterday’s paper. I didn’t read it until 12:30 today or I would have been at the service. I cannot imagine what you have gone through this week. And, the weeks ahead. I am loss for words. I love you.

Billie, I am so sorry to find about Jeff this way. I came across his obituary today. I used to be your neighbor in Mt. Carmel back many years ago and all us neighborhood kids used to play together. My prayers and thoughts go out to you and your family during difficult time.
