Jeffrey Preston Odom, 48, of Asheville, died on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals.
A native of Lakeland, FL, Mr. Odom was a son of Thelma Williamson Crowe, formerly of Cherokee, and of the late Kennith Roy Odom, formerly of Lakeland. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Eugina Michelle Odom.
Mr. Odom had worked as a diesel mechanic, and enjoyed deer hunting in his spare time. He will be remembered as a loving father and brother.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Odom is survived by his wife, Myrna Pedroza Odom; daughters, Melissa Odom, Ruby Gonzalez, and Selena Odom; son, Allen Odom and wife Mitzi; brothers, James Kenneth Odom and wife Diane and David Roy Odom and wife Christy; nieces and nephew, Lacey Lee Odom, Kirstin Taylor Odom, and Kennith Tyler Odom; and stepfather, Benjamin Herndon Murray.
Mr. Odom's family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave.
I knew Jeff when we were students at Enka High School. We didn’t keep in touch, but I remember him as being a wonderful person with a great sense of humor. So sorry for your loss. Your family is in our thoughts.

I’m not surprised to read about Jeff’s humor in so many posts. He kept us rolling in laughter. When the tears have had their time we will still remember, hear ,feel, and enjoy his laughter all our days. What a wonderful gift.

Im so sorry that Jeff had to leave so soon in life but God had other plans he will be missed he was a good guy and he was always thoughtful of others he will forever be in my thoughts
