Resided in:
Asheville, NC
Jenny Lee Crook, 68, of Asheville, died on Monday, March 7, 2011, at the JFK Solace Center.
A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Carl and Opal Ayers Crook.
She worked for Mission Hospital for 23 years. She then worked in the Buncombe County Clerk of Court's office for 5 years.
Jenny was a Tar Heel fan and also a Nascar fan, with Dale Jarrett her favorite. She was an avid reader of the Bible, her prayer list tucked into it. Wherever she went, Jenny took her Bible and always made time for nightly devotions. She loved gospel music, especially the music of the Gaithers, the Statesmen, with Jake Hess and Big Chief, and, of course, Elvis!
She is survived by sisters Myra Lee Ramsey, Julia Ann Willis and husband Edward, Joyce Morgan and husband Dale, and Susan Allman and husband Joe; and by a brother Leonard Crook and wife Veronica. Jenny's nieces and nephews were the passion of her life.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jackie Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.
