Jetty Shelton Stephens

Jetty Shelton Stephens, 84, of Asheville, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2012. Born in Buncombe County to the late James and Lydia Fowler Shelton, she was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She delighted in animals and loved nature. Other than her parents, Mrs. Stephens is preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Charles Shelton and sister, Marie Byrd. She is survived by her husband, Jack Stephens; one son, Jack Barry Stephens; one daughter, Sophie Marie Stephens and fiancé, Don Carter, all of Asheville; two grandchildren, Stephanie Garris of Charlotte and Paul Roberts of Dallas, TX; and four great-grandchildren, Dara and Abigail Garris, of Charlotte, and Torre and Randi Roberts, of Dallas, TX. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Gashes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CarePartners Hospice, P.O.
