Joan B. Mashburn

Mrs. Mashburn was born in Hiawassee, GA, was a daughter of the late William Clinton and Lula Carroll Burch, and was married to Clifton A. Mashburn, Sr., who died in 1993. She was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Garren of Candler; two sons, C.A. Mashburn, Jr. of Asheville and Norman B. Mashburn of Hendersonville; a brother, Carl Burch of Black Mountain; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. James H. Johnson and the Rev. Daniel Dockery officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah View Memorial Park.

Her family will receive friends from 1 - 2 pm Thursday at the funeral home and request that memorials be made to West Asheville Baptist Church Building Fund, 926 Haywood Road, Asheville, NC 28806.
