Joan Elaine Carver

Joan Elaine Carver, 67, of Asheville, died Wednesday, June 19, 2013. A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late James E. and Beatrice Taylor Jones. She was also preceded in death by a brother, James E. Jones, Jr., and a sister, Norma Bugg. Mrs. Carver worked for Bankers Life Insurance Co., and also formerly worked at the Asheville Airport. She is survived by a sister, Judy Tipton and husband Tommy; sister-in-law, Dorothy Jones; brother, William W. Jones and Brenda Thomas; nieces and nephews, Cindy Harmon, Elaine Thorpe, Tammy Warner, Stephanie Lollis, Donald Bugg, Lonnie Bugg, Kevin Tipton, Anita Clayton and Tina Holloman; and several great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ricky Townsend officiating. Family interment will follow at Sulphur Springs (Academy) Cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The online register is available at www.grocefuneralhome.com.
