Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Joan was the sweetest most caring person anyone could ever meet. She was always a positive light on a cloudy day.
Prayers for you all as you mourn the loss of this beautiful lady. Love you bunches Joan.

  2. Thankful to have reconnected with cousin Joan the last several years with our visits. We had a good time. She has left a wonderful life footprint.

  3. Dear Family, a hole has surely been left in your hearts with the passing of precious Joan. I spent several years at Fletcher United Methodist Church as Music Director and Joan was such a bright light in my late hubby and my walk there on the staff. She was so faithful to her church and its ministries and I never saw her without that beautiful smile. She was a joy to know and very supportive of my late hubby and myself at FUMC. May you have sweet memories to hold fast to and joys to recall in the days ahead as our Lord and Savior gives you added strength. I am so happy we met on the path of life and I know I will see her again. Priscilla Morgan

  4. I first met Joan in 1998. How she met my 86yr old mother who had just moved here from Texas I have no idea and it was several months before I actually met this lovely new friend of my mother’s. Thank God for miracles. Kind, caring, patient, true to her word. What a terrific listener. She did not give advice to me unless I asked for it. She was there for me in every way after my mother and then my partner left this earth. When my precious little Sarah left two years ago(13 yr old chihuahua) Joan was”Johnny on the spot” to console me. I loved talking with her. Her curiosity was simply childlike. She did not brag about her past accomplishments. Her ego is where we all should aspire to have ours. She dearly loved and was so grateful for her daughter Cam and Gregg and all the grandchildren. She was spiritual but not religious. She was tired-not afraid-just tired. I am confident she will continue to care for us from the other side. Let us all keep talking with her!

  5. Joan was a very special friend. When my husband was scheduled for surgery in Charlotte in September 2011, Joan went early in the morning with us. She drove in the lead car, I drove second, and Stephen, our pastor, drove third. One doctor declined to do surgery that day because something in Ben’s records caused him concern. Ben had to do a stress test, which he passed. We had to go back to Hendersonville and reschedule his surgery. On October 31, 2011, our little caravan (with Joan in the lead)drove to Charlotte again. This time Ben had a very successful surgery. Joan, also, drove us to Ben’s final appointment with that surgeon in January 2012. Joan was, also, a friend that I went to when things weren’t going well. She was wonderfully supportive and beautifully positive about my situations. She was a most special friend, and I expect to see her in heaven some day.

  6. Camille and Family, my deepest condolences to you for this huge loss. I have known Joan for the past 2 years and have loved her wickedly funny sense of humor and her very interesting life stories. She loved you so deeply and was so very proud of you all! I will miss our many fun conversations and her deep compassion for others! Her smile would light up any room and that is how I will always remember her!
