John Alphonse Pacosa was received unto the Lord on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the age of 77. A man of deep faith, unwavering love, and steadfast dedication, John leaves behind a legacy of service, selflessness, and generosity.

Born in Northampton, Massachusetts, John is predeceased by his parents, John Peter Pacosa and Gladys Kaprasiewski Pacosa of Easthampton, Massachusetts.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Anne Pacosa, with whom he shared a life built on mutual love for each other and the Lord. He was a proud father to his son, John “Josh” Pacosa, married to Sarah Melinda Pacosa, whose life he enriched by showing what it truly was to be a great husband and father. John loved being a grandfather to Jack, Langston, Melinda Jane, and Alice Pacosa, who will forever cherish the memories of the love, stories, and laughter they shared with their “Pe-pa.”

John dedicated over 30 years of his life working for the United States Air Force Reserve as a Contract Negotiator, where his commitment to his country and to the people he served was unwavering. His work ethic and sense of duty were evident in every aspect of his career, where he made lasting contributions and forged relationships that stood the test of time. After retirement, he dedicated his time to the Christian Service Center, which he later told his grandson Jack was “his most important work.”

John’s life was a testament to the values of integrity, faith, and quiet generosity. He was a man of principle, always ready to lend a hand or a smile. Those who knew him for a long or a short time were blessed by his kindness, respect and love for others.

The family will hold a celebration of life service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Warner Robins, GA, on Saturday, September 21, at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Christian Service Center of Warner Robins, GA in his honor. Donations can be made online or sent to 136 Northview Avenue, Warner Robins, GA, 31088.

His legacy of love and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

    I ,also, have had a sad time this year! Stanley passed on January 24. He too, was 77.

  7. John was truly a blessing. Michael and I really enjoyed knowing him when he was our next door neighbor in Warner Robins. So glad that we kept in touch with him and Ann when they moved to North Carolina. Praying for Ann and the family. Especially his grandkids whom he adored. Heaven has a new angel now.   10. John was known as Jackie to me. He was and always will be my cousin. When I was a young boy, I would spend several weeks at his home. Kindness, love and thoughtfulness embrace the walls of the home. His father would pretend to play the bugle as we draped our blanket over us for a nights rest. I was planning on calling Jackie, when I received the news about his death. Our love and prayers are with you Sarah, Josh and your family. Also, send our love to all the Twarog families.

  14. Our hearts ache for the family and friends of this oh, so special man! My husband, Jim, and I both worked with John for years at Robins AFB. He was truly one of the most beloved people I ever worked with. It was such an inspiration to watch the love and devotion he felt for his family. We know he will be truly missed and pray that all the wonderful memories you have will bring you all comfort. You are in our prayers. As requested, we will forego flowers and make the requested donation. May God be with you all!!

  20. Anne, So sorry for your loss. John and I worked together at HQ AFRC for many years. I was in Civil Engineering and he in contracting. He was our contracting officer of choice on millions of dollars’ worth of construction. As good a contracting officer as he was, he was an even better man and friend. He always had a smile on his face and a “can do” attitude. We had talked a few months ago and shared a lot of memories together. He left a great legacy at many AFRC bases with all the great work he did.

    We are so sorry to hear of John’s passing. We know how much he loved his family and will be deeply missed. John often talked about Anne and how proud he was of her and her career as a Special Education Teacher and her contributions to Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He truly felt blessed to have Anne as his life’s partner. He led a life of service and made significant and lasting contributions to his community, church, and place of work. Simply put, he lived a fine life and lived it well!
    We first got to know John many years ago through his involvement with Scouting when Josh and our son, Brent, were little boys. It was easy to tell then what a devoted and proud father John was to Josh and that remained evident throughout his life. In a professional capacity, we had the privilege of working with John while he was assigned to the Contracting Division, HQ Air Force Reserve Command (HQ AFRC), Robins AFB, GA. His skills and expertise in the field of Contracting were highly respected and he always tried to do what was right and in the best interest of HQ AFRC and the citizen taxpayer. Socially, we always enjoyed visiting with John and Anne when we would run into them at Ruby Tuesday in Warner Robins. John was a man of faith who shined as a bright light with a warm and welcoming smile.
    During this very difficult time, may God’s love be your strength and comfort. May the Pacosa family feel the compassion of our Heavenly Father in the days ahead and it will sustain each of you through this time of deepest sorrow. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
