John Anthony Schierle, 89, of Fairview, died on Saturday, January 21, 2017.
A native of Westfield, NJ, John was a son of the late John Herman and Marie Dornstader Schierle. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Jane Skinner Schierle; daughter, Janet Anne Schierle; and son, James Schierle.
Mr. Schierle was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Schierle is survived by his daughters, Kathy Collins, of Swannanoa and Diane McWilliams and husband Kirk, of Atlanta; brother, Robert Schierle and wife Claire, of Westfield, NJ; five grandchildren, Bronson Boudrieau and wife Amber, Christie Myers, Eric Collins, Megan McWilliams and Sean McWilliams; and six great-grandchildren.
The graveside service will be 3:00 p.m. on Monday at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard, Fletcher. The Rev. Jerry Wilson will officiate.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
