John Carroll Parker, 71, of Candler, died Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Memorial Campus, Mission Hospitals.
A native of Buncombe Co., he was a son of the late James and Carrie White Parker. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Elaine Bradley Parker; 3 brothers, Edgar, Charles, and Harry Parker; and grandchildren Makayla Lynn and John Colton Parker.
Mr. Parker worked as a millwright and maintenance mechanic for Sayles Bleachery. He was a member of White Rock Baptist Church.
Mr. Parker is survived by three daughters, Carla Hollifield and husband Kenny, Cathy Parker and Christy Ball and husband Kevin; sons, John Parker and wife Hope and Brad Parker and wife Carmella; 13 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; sister Lucille Parker Lee; and brother James F. Parker.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at White Rock Baptist Church, with the Revs. Robert Oliver, Fred Morris, John Parker, and Brad Parker officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the White Rock Baptist Church Helping Hands Ministry, PO Box 1277, Candler, NC 28715.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
John will be missed very much he was a very dear friend Family I love you all. Each one of you are in my prayers.Your pastor Robert Oliver.
Mr. John Carroll Parker is now celebrating his reunion with his beloved wife Elaine, and we know that they are both sitting at the feet of Jesus rejoicing in all of God’s glory. Praise the Lord for Christian Fathers and Mothers.

Hey Parker Children! I don’t know if you all remember me or not but I am Aunt Ida Dungey (Carrie’s sisters granddaughter) and wanted to let you all know you are in my thoughts and prayers during this time. I did not know that Elaine had passed on to Heaven along with both my Momma and Daddy (Dottie & Herman Sluder). Just remember we will see them again.
