John Charles Davis
June 11, 1928 ~ November 16, 1999
A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Ida Gibson Davis and John Marlin Davis. He was an Army and Navy veteran of W.W. II and he retired from Ecusta in 1991. He was an active member and deacon of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Bryson Davis; daughter, Rita Davis Hodges and her husband Christopher of Suwanee, GA; two sisters, Pauline Henderson of Hendersonville, Faye Walker of East Flat Rock and a brother, Dewey W. Davis of Chattahoochee, Florida.
Services will be held at 11 am Friday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian conducted by the Revs. Roy E. Perry, Bobbie Arrowood and James Reed. Burial will be in the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery.
His family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home on Long Shoals Road.
