John Elwood Keever

John Elwood Keever, 71, of Asheville, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at his residence. Born in Grove City, NJ to the late George E. and Marie Esther Howard Keever, he was owner of Keever Paint Company for over 40 years and was a member of Biltmore Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Burrell Keever; one son, John Junior Keever (Stephanie) of Asheville; three daughters, Barbara Curry (Michael), Colleen Owenby (Kenneth), and Melina Manning (Danny) all of Asheville; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren; one brother, C.L. Keever (Sheila) of Asheville. A funeral service will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road. Rev. Ron Roberts and Rev. Dale Whitson will officiate and burial will follow in Gashes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
