John Hugh Ballinger

August 26, 1920 ~ August 1, 1998

Graveside services for Mr. Ballinger will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, August 4, 1998, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Enoch Ball, Jr., officiating.

Mr. Ballinger was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late John Sluder and Ethel Parker Ballinger. He was a Navy veteran of WW II and was retired after 42 years with Enka. He was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Helen K. Ballinger; two daughters Sandra Herron and Jane Surrett; a son, John Ballinger, Jr; four sisters, Katherine Horton, Blanche Brazille, Faye Harper, and Lois Brooks; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
