John Koment, Jr.

Asheville ~ John Koment, Jr., 96, of 4 Walden Ridge Drive, died Monday, September 22, 2003 in Alterra Clare Bridge Nursing Home. A native of Glenville, CT, Mr. Koment was a longtime resident of Franklin Lakes, NJ. He was the son of the late John Koment, Sr. and Katherine Piader Koment. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Eva Pollard Koment, a sister, Anna Baukema and a brother, Joseph Koment. Mr. Koment worked as Chief Financial Officer of a banking supplies company and was an ex-Chief of Company 3 Elmwood Park, NJ Fire Department. Survivors include two daughters, Alice Bohrer of Asheville and Mary Buetzow of Phoenix, AZ; two sons, Robert Koment of Spring Hill, FL and Edward Koment of Westwood, NJ; a sister, Mary Trischella of Elmwood Park, NJ; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren and fifteen great, great grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date in New Jersey. Memorials may be made to the National Alzheimers Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Suite 1700, Chicago, IL 60601.
