John L. 'Jack' Clarke

Mr. Clarke was born in
Buncombe County, was a son of the late Hugh D. and Beatrice Carr Clarke, and was married to Lillie Mae Patton Clarke, who died in 1991.

He was an Army Air Corps veteran of WW II and a graduate of Georgia Tech.  He was a textile engineer with BASF where he worked for 32 years.  He was a member of the Basilica of St. Lawrence.

Surviving are two daughters, Diane Clarke of Asheville and Debbie Schwartz of Seneca, SC;
a grandson, Brian Carver;  and a sister Ann Williams of Austin, TX.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 Noon Monday at the
Basilica of St. Lawrence with Father Christopher Davis officiating.  Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Assn.
