John Patrick “Pat” Rhew, 66, of Asheville, North Carolina, passed away on February 11, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on January 29, 1959, in Asheville, Pat was the beloved son of the late Jean Martin Rhew and William Thomas Rhew Sr.

Pat was a man of many talents and passions. He dedicated 22 years of his career to Eaton, where he worked diligently before retiring. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to start multiple businesses, but his true passion was restoring classic cars and racing. He had a deep love for motorcycles and a smile that could light up any room—one that so many will remember and cherish.

Above all, Pat’s greatest joy and accomplishment was his family. He is survived by his wife, Andrea; his children, Anna, Matthew, and Michael; his brother, Bobby; his brother, Dale and wife, Angie; his nephews, Will, Nathan and wife Tricia, Cody and wife Mikayla; his great-niece, Allyson, daughter of Nathan and Tricia; and his great-nephew, Ean, son of Cody and Mikayla. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, William Jr., Elizabeth, and Frances.

Pat will be remembered for his kindness, warmth, and the way he made everyone around him feel special. His legacy of love and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road with visitation one hour prior to the service. A private burial will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Brother Wolf Animal Rescue, Asheville, NC.
