John Roger Ingram, 79, died Friday, January 8, 2010, in Burnsville.
A native of Asheville, he was the son of the late Horace G. and Juniata Voorheis Ingram. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Ingram and three sisters, Eleanor Ingram, Elizabeth Herzberg and Alice Hamilton.
Mr. Ingram was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and an automotive machinist.
He is survived by four daughters, Helen Calloway, June Ingram and Susan Ingram of Asheville and Laura Ingram of Lenoir City, Tenn.; a son, Joel Ingram of Asheville; a sister, Mary Sudassy of Wheaton, Maryland; three brothers, Larry Ingram and Jack Ingram of Candler, Joe Ingram of Platteville, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian.
Interment will follow in Averys Creek Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Roger was very dear to all of us & will be greatly missed!
