Arden ~ John ''Jack'' Thomas McDonagh, 73, of 137 Weston Road, died Thursday, August 30, 2001 at his residence.

A native of Edgeworth, PA, Mr. McDonagh was the son of the late Anne Veronica Keaney McDonagh and John Joseph McDonagh.

A graduate of Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA, Mr. McDonagh was a lieutenant with the ROTC, served in the US Army during World War II and also in the US Air Force with the 112th Fighter Squadron in Pittsburgh, PA. He was a member of the American Legion and was retired from Westinghouse Electric Corporation following thirty years of service.

Mr. McDonagh was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and St. Barnabas Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Edith A. McDonagh; a daughter, Casey Braddox and her husband, Bob, of Chattanooga, TN; four sons, Jack McDonagh and his wife, Meredith and daughter, Kathleen of Charlotte; Patrick McDonagh of Arden; Matthew McDonagh of Arden; and Barry McDonagh and his wife, Myra and son, Baron and two daughters, Casie and Haley of Arden; one sister, Grace Gebhard of Olympia, WA; a niece, Judith Smith of Olympia, WA and a nephew, Albert Gebhard of Denver, CO.

A Mass of Christian burial will be said at St. Barnabas Catholic Church on Sunday at 2:00 PM with Father Roger Arnsparger officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Episcopal Churchyard.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 PM on Saturday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road. A rosary will be said at 6:00 PM prior to the visitation.
