Johnathon Zachery McMahan, infant son of Holly Kay McMahan and Keith Worley, died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at Memorial Mission Hospital.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his grandmother Mary Kay McMahan of Leicester; Allen Parker (Holly’s boyfriend); Betty Yates (Allen’s mom) of Weaverville; great-grandparents Luther and Liza McMahan; great- grandmother Katherine King of Leicester; and several aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Dale McMahan who died in 2003 and by his great-grandfather, Melvin King in 1992.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Revs. Matthew Sams and Garland Rice officiating.
His family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
Flowers are appreciated, but donations may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
The family expresses appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and other caregivers at Memorial Mission Hospital.

Dear Holly, I am so very sorry about your little baby. This is totally not fair. Please know that I am here for you and that I am always gonna be here. That baby is with the Lord now and he is an Angel watching over you.

Holly, I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts constantly and I pray that God will be with you and hold you in his loving arms as he is now holding Zachery.I will continue to hold you in my prayers and I want you to know that I will try to be there for you whenever you need anything that I can do for you. I truly hate to read about these stories. This poor little helpless baby. Taken away from us so soon. And at the hand of a monster. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise. God took him out of this cruel world for a reason. I hope he did not suffer. I know he is in heaven now, a beautiful angel in Gods arms. As far as the boyfriend goes, he will get his. That is one thing I do know. God does punish those who do not follow his commandments.

God bless you little Johnathon. It is so sad to see those who struggle for years to have a child of their own and never get that chance. Then there are those who have children so easily, but never fully appreciate them and all their wonder. You were too good for this earth little one. Rest in peace. You are safe now.
I want you to know that I am very sorry for the loss of your angel.I seen the news and I was very upset over the fact that a innocent baby died at the hands of another guy.
