Johnny Alexander "Bubba" Butler, III, 49, died Friday, April 13, 2018, at his home. Born in Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Johnny A. Butler, Jr. and was also preceded in death by his fiance, Janice White and by a brother, Keith Brackett. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Barbara Jean Brackett Hensley and William D. Hensley; daughter, Kayla Burris; son, Michael Pounders ; sisters, Rosemary Slagle, Sheri Butler, Amanda Singley (Henry), and Kimberly McElrath (John); a brother, Steven Butler; and cousin, Annette Chrisman. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Thursday in the Lake Julian chapel of Groce Funeral Home, 72 Long Shoals Road, Arden, with the Rev. Keith Dockins officiating. Burial will follow at New Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

I wish I would have meet you sooner (think I did when I was little). I want to say how sorry I am to Rosemary, Steve, Sheri, his children and all his other close family members that I did not mention. Bubba you are in better place. I can’t believe I’m just learning of this, it’s crazyyy, I feel like apiece of shit friend for not even knowing, man I just thought you had moved back to north Carolina an hadn’t been on face book, you know we been up in ky doing really good and staying out of trouble.. I just can’t seriously believe your gone man, like wtf we shoulda known about this shit sooner. Almost 4 months ago!?!?! Like wowww, how when where?!?!?
