Asheville - Joe Tufts, 36, of Stradley Mountain Road, died Saturday, February 26, 2000.
A lifelong resident of Asheville, he was a son of Joseph D. Tufts of New Jersey and Patricia Limeberry Tufts of Asheville.
Joe was an employee of Buncombe Roofing and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Patricia Ann Strickland of Georgia; a niece and nephew, Audrey Wyatt and Jacob Wyatt; his aunts, Carol Hannah, Audrey Owenby and Dianne Wagner and his uncles, Danny Roy Limeberry and Douglas Lee Limeberry.
A graveside service will be at 11 am Monday at Sardis Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Aaron Phillips.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 6:30 pm Sunday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian and at other times will be at the home of Carol Hannah, 134 Wicklow Drive, Asheville.

Hello my name is Christina Ann Tufts Appley and I am
so saddened to find out this way about him this way I really wish that I could have meant him before he passed away! I believe that he was my brother from my father Joseph Daniel Tufts pasted in 1977 in Texas.I would really like to no more information about him and my half sister. I don’t know a lot about the Tufts side would really like to know my family! Thank you and so sorry that we couldn’t meet in this lifetime!
