Joseph Dean Hannah, 71, of Asheville, died Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at the John F. Keever Solace Center. A native of Haywood Co., he was a son of the late Fred and Zella Hannah. He was also preceded in death by brothers Frank, Leroy, David, Paul, and Tommy Hannah, and by sisters Helen and Wilda Smith, and Mary Hannah. Mr. Hannah was a long distance truck driver and a heavy equipment operator. He loved fishing and hunting. He is survived by his wife, Carol L. Hannah; sons, Mark, Dean, and Jeff Hannah; daughters, April and Dawn Hannah; six grandsons; two granddaughters; sisters Willie Lamb of Asheville and Wanda Garrison of FL; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Sardis United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Pastor Kevin Chapman officiating. Pallbearers will be Danny Limeberry, Woody Owenby, Hunter Hannah, Justin Hannah, Josh Pressley, and Casey Pressley. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the John F. Keever Solace Center, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.

  6. Sorry to hear of your loss Joseph will be missed so keep a hold of your fond memories. The bible says there will be a resurrection of the dead. John 5 : 28, 29. Rev. 21 : 3, 4 is comforting, in the near future there will be no more tears or death. Your family is in our prayers.
