Joseph Kestle Strange

Mr. Strange was born in Dandridge, TN, and was a son of the late Beecher Meek and Virgie Mae Holt Strange. He was married to Tennie Warren Strange, who died in 1995, and he was retired from American Enka Corp. with over 40 years of service. He was a member of Enka Baptist Church and a longtime member of the Enka Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by two sons, J.C. Strange of Taylors, SC and Jerry W. Strange of Surfside Beach, SC; two sisters, Mary Lillie Whitson of Asheville and Rosie Woody of Fairview; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Brown officiating.
Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
His family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service and request that memorials be made to Enka Baptist Church, PO Box 219, Enka, NC 28728.

I will always remember the good times we had as
neighbors. Some of the fondest memories are the
years I spent in the Enka Village. Joe had such a
unique sense of humor,and we had fun kidding each
other. But as the song says, we are going down the
valley one by one. So J. C. and Jerry it was good to
see you again and I will keep you in my prayers.
