Josephine Bradley Dowdle

Josephine Bradley Dowdle, 80, of 114 Vance Crescent Ext., Asheville, died Sunday, April 2, 2000 in a local nursing facility. A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late, Edd and Bessie Rogers Bradley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jay L. Dowdle and a daughter Patricia Dowdle. She was a member of the Esther Chapter #12 Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, VFW Post #891 and Trinity United Methodist Church where she was active in the Sprinkle Bible Class. Mrs. Dowdle is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Edd and Paula Dowdle of Asheville, two grandchildren, Ashley and Zeb; and two sisters, Lotus Plott of Kodak, TN and Rose Stiles of Otto, NC. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home with Revs. Ted B. Craddick and Ralph Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 7-8:30 Monday at the funeral home and at other times will be at the home of her son.
