Fairview – Josephine Hare Walker, 85, died Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Mission Hospital. A native of Buncombe County, she was daughter of the late Reverend James Hare and Minnie Bell Owenby Hare Stepp. She was wife of the late Willie Lee Walker who died in 1966 and mother of the late Daniel Walker who died in 1992. She worked hard all of her life and worked as a spinner with thirty- three years of service for the Biltmore Yarn Company. Josephine was a member of Sunny View Baptist Church and was a mother and grandmother to many. She is survived by two daughters, Mavis Jones and Patricia Morrow both of Asheville; three brothers, Arnold Hare of Columbus, NC, James and Reverend Donald Hare, both of Asheville. Josephine is also survived by six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday at the Sunny View Baptist Church with the Reverend Donald Hare officiating. Burial will follow at New Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm Friday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian and from 12 noon to 1:00 pm Saturday at the church. At other times will be at the home of Donald Hare 17 Hare Ridge Road, Asheville. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is in charge of arrangements.

I have walked down the road you are walking now and I know your steps are heavy, but lean strongly on the Lord to give you the strength and grace you need because He has promised us He would never leave us, He carries us in His arms during the worst times of our life. Most of you probably do not know me but my mother and Aunt Minnie were sisters but you will all be in my prayers.
