Joyce Ramona Wright Holcombe, 69, of 117 Holcombe Cove Rd., Candler, slipped off to Heaven on Thursday, August 21, 2008, at her residence. A native of Buncombe Co., Mrs. Holcombe was a daughter of Lura Robinson Wright and the late Rev. Bryce H. Wright. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Wright Overman; and her son, Robert N. Holcombe. A graduate of Enka High School, Mrs. Holcombe was a homemaker, and also worked at Sears for a number of years. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 52 years, Reginald N. Holcombe, Jr.; daughters, Myrna H. Marks, of Chula Vista, CA, Debra Hays-Humphries, of Chesapeake, VA; brothers, Allen Z. Wright, of Asheboro, NC, and Norman H. Wright, of Candler; five grandchildren, David A. Marks, Jerry D. Marks, Tiffany D. Edwards, Kayla M. Hays, and Annie Len Holcombe; and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service for Mrs. Holcombe will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Liberty Baptist Church with the Revs. Todd Cole and John Brendell officiating. Her family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.     When I returned from an out of town conference, I was saddened to hear about the loss of Mrs. Holcombe. She was such a great encouragment and blessing to me during the time Tiffany and Jerry were attending Mount Sheba Academy.

    My prayers are with all of you and I trust that you will have many better days in the future.

    I met Joyce on a Media Conference trip several years ago. She rode with us from Pole Creek to Wilmington. We talked non-stop both down and back. I learned what a wonderful person and friend she was. My sincere condolences to your family in this loss of such a wonderful wife, mother and friend.

She found a place in so many lives and contributed to the spiritual growth of so many people. She will truly be missed.     Mrs. Joyce was always such an inspiration to me! She worked hard and always took care of the needs of others; she had a great love for God and her family. Even though the years have changed the situation, you are all still a part of our family. If there is anything you need, do not hesitate to call.   11. R.N. and Family-My heart breaks at the loss of this special lady. She was truly one of the sweetest, kindest ladies I have every met, and her deep faith and upbeat attitude was an inspiration to us all. She is no longer in pain, and God has another Angel by his side.

    Little did I know Sunday when I spoke to Joyce and she said that come Sunday she would be singing with Gods Holy choir.That she would be there this soon.But she would look for me.And I hold her to her word.For for when I get there I’ll sure will be looking for her.
