Joyce Sharpe Clark, 82, passed away December 2, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones.
Services will be on Friday, December 6 at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. The receiving of friends will be from 1:00-2:30 p.m., with the funeral immediately following at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Billy Clark officiating. She will be laid to rest at Grace United Methodist Church located on Newfound Rd., Leicester, NC. The pall bearers will be family and friends.
Joyce was a lifelong resident of the Leicester community and a 1960 graduate of Leicester High School. Joyce devoted 40 years to the Erwin and Leicester Youth Leagues. She also worked for American Greetings for 21 years.
She was an avid bowler, bowling in several leagues, tournaments, and loved bowling on Thursday mornings with her lady friends. She loved spending time with family, friends, and especially going out to eat with her daughter and son-in-law.
Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eddie Clark who died in November 2020, parents, Oscar and Wilma Sharpe, and sister, Judy Cogdill.
Joyce is survived by her son, Eddie Clark, Jr, of Knoxville, TN; daughter, Karen Redmon (Dean), Leicester, NC; three grandchildren, Jake Clark of Knoxville, TN, Anna Clark of Salt Lake City UT, and Derek Lamb of Chattanooga, TN; brothers, Larry Sharpe (Linda) Asheville, NC and Jeff Sharpe of Leicester, NC; sister, Lisa Sharpe, Asheville, NC; special nephew, Billy (Bub) Clark (Connie) of Leicester, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff on the fourth floor in the ICU unit at Mission Hospital for their loving care of our mom.

Joyce was a very “Special ” person. I enjoyed her friendship over the years. God’s Blessings on the family.
I remember Joyce doing the concession stand at Michael and Jackey ball games. She had the best nachos and hotdogs with chili. May she rest in peace.

I am so very sorry for the loss of your Dear Mom, Eddie and Karen, and your sister, Lisa. She will be missed by many in the community as well. She was one of those people who just knew everybody and was welcome anywhere.

Lisa, Karen, Eddie & family, We were so saddened to hear of the loss of Joyce. I know this is such a difficult time for all. We have enjoyed the years of knowing your family and Joyce.
