Joyce Warren Melton, 76,
of 130 Hemphill Road, Asheville, died
Saturday, January 3, 2004, in an
Asheville hospital.
Mrs. Melton was born in
Tallasee, Alabama and was a
daughter of the late Lester Warren
and Minnie D. Warren DeBruhl. She
was a graduate of Haw Creek School
and was married to Woodrow Melton
who died in 1967. She worked for the
National Weather Records Center in
Asheville for thirty years.
She is survived by one
daughter, Patricia Puckridge and her
husband Larry of Fletcher.
Graveside services will be
at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Skyview
Memorial Park with the Rev. and Mrs.
Daniel and Marjorie Allen officiating.
Her family will receive
friends from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Monday
at Groce Funeral Home on Patton
Avenue and at other times will be at
the daughter’s home, 325 White Pine
Road, Fletcher.

Joyce was a good friend to my mother in law Phyllis Williams for many years. I remember her deep smile, dry humor and most of all her decerning eyes. She will be missed.
