Judy Dockrey Sampson

Judy Dockrey Sampson, 81, joined her husband, Harley, at the foot of Jesus on Sunday, May 26, 2024.

Judy was born on May 9, 1943, in Marshall, NC, to Richard and Nora Dockery. She was also preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband, Harley Sampson.

She was a graduate of Erwin High School, Class of 1961, and attended Asheville-Biltmore College (now UNCA). Following retirement from the U.S. Forest Service, she served as a secretary at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, West Asheville Presbyterian Church, and Acton United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Sampson is survived by her step-son, Dwight Sampson and his son Dee Jay, Jr., and a sister.

The graveside service for Mrs. Sampson will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Cassada Cemetery, Marshall. Rev. Tim Hyatt will officiate.
