June Burton Dixon, 86, of Asheville, died May 8, 2009.
Mrs. Dixon was born on April 9, 1923, in Staten Island, New York. She was the daughter of the late Ethel McCarthy Burton and Charles Burton. She was a homemaker and past Director of Harvest House and East Asheville Community Center with Asheville City Parks and Recreation.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, William G. Dixon and three sons: Robert of Sarasota, FL: Donald of Asheville, NC and Kiawah Island, SC; Michael of Nashville, TN and granddaughter, Danielle, of Greensboro, NC.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, May 17, 2009 at Groce United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church immediately after the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Dixon's memory may be made to The Humane Society of Asheville, NC.
