June Thomas Lindsay, 88, of Asheville, passed away Monday, September 18, 2023 at the CarePartners Solace Center.

Born January 8, 1935 in Swain Co., June was a daughter of the late Carl and Eva Lollis Thomas. She was a member of Emma Baptist Church for over 60 years, where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Her favorite Bible verse was John 3:16, and she loved her family very much.

Surviving is her soulmate and husband of 68 years, Harold Berlin Lindsay; two daughters; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister and one brother.

A Going Home Celebration will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Keith Lindsay officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to WNC Bridge Foundation (Hospice), 294 Overlook Rd., Asheville, NC 28803.

  6. I’m sorry that June has passed but her sound is with God and family that passed before her. She was a big help with my Mom when she was diagnosed diabetic.
