Junius Lee Foster, Jr.

A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Junius L., Sr. and Elva Mae Young Foster and was also preceded in death by a brother, William Foster.
He attended Candler School and Blanton's Business College. He retired from BASF as Senior Research Analyst with more than 30 years service. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving as an electricians mate on the USS Bairoka. He was a member and Deacon of Inanda Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ina Mae King Foster; a son, Jimmy Foster and his wife Kathy of Arden; two daughters, Debbie Jones and her husband Doug of Asheville, Patty Stroupe and her husband Wes of Asheville; a brother, Calvin Foster of Seneca, SC; three sisters, Mary Lee Gaddy of Candler, Betty Ward of Asheville, Ellen Davis of Easley, SC; seven grandchildren, Jamie Foster, Andrea Dillingham, Tim Foster, Wes Stroupe, Jr., Joshua Lee Stroupe, Morgan Stroupe, Savannah Jones and two great- grandchildren, Zoe Mae Lunsford and Evan Bryan Dillingham.
Services will be 11 am Tuesday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home conducted by the Revs. Bill Sayles Bobby Smith, and Claude Surrett. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park
. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 pm Monday at the funeral home.
