Karen Arlinda Chidlow, 51, of Candler, died Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at her residence.
A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of Arnold White and of the late Nellene Conard White. Mrs. Chidlow was a member of Gashes Creek Baptist Church, and she worked for Mission Hospital for 16 years.
Surviving in addition to her father are her husband, Tiernan Chidlow; daughter, Rebekah Meadows Robinson and husband Dillon; step-sons, Cole and Travis Chidlow; granddaughter, Rayne Meadows; nieces, Maddison and Peyton Smith; and sister Kim Smith and husband James.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Hominy Valley Wildlife Club, 11 Sunray Cove, Candler, NC. The Rev. Ed Jennings will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tiernan Chidlow, 29 Captains Dr., Candler, NC 28715.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.

I was shocked to hear of Arlinda passing. I worked with her in Security at Mission years ago. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word for when you were having a bad day. It is with a broken heart that I say this world has lost one of the most beautiful souls I have ever known. There are just no words to truly explain what she meant to me and my devastation for her precious family, and I just ache for you. I loved her so. I prayed so many times daily for her while she was sick and I continue to pray for her family and other friends who are left with such a big hole in your hearts, that you may be comforted somehow in your loss. Know that she will always be with us and that she will know we will always love her.
Heaven has gained another DEAR ANGEL!! Until you are reunited again sweet family keep the faith , and know she is much better now,and cancer free…peace to you all thru this heartbreaking time.

Good bye for now my sweet friend. You loved with all your heart and that’s why I know you are in Heaven now. Life won’t be the same without you. Driving down the Parkway the last few days reminds me of our time together, I will always remember our great walks with Sophie and Jack. We had fun and I will never forget.

Dear family; I met Arlinda at a little country church she and I used to attend together. She always had a sweet smile from the moment she walked in till the service ended, & everywhere we would ever see her outside the church she would always greet us with a smile and a loving hug. My daughter said Arlinda didn’t just give hugs, she gave Bear hugs
I love you Arlinda with all my heart, you were good friend to my sister as well a friend to me also the little sister. We had so many good times together and we worked together to. What a wonderful person to see at work every day, if I was in a bad mood she would cheer me up!! You will be missed so much but I understand because you are not hurting any more no more crying, no more pain! Praise the Lord!! See you soon in heaven!

My deepest sympathies to the Chidlow family. I’m so sorry for your loss. May ‘the God of all comfort’ give all of you the needed strength to get through each day. (2 Corinthians 1:3,4) The Bible tells us that Jesus wept when his dear friend Lazarus died. Yet, just minutes later, Jesus performed an astounding miracle – he raised Lazarus back to life! (John 11:32-44) In doing so, he gave all mankind solid grounds for faith in the amazing promise he had made earlier in his ministry when he said: ‘Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.’ (John 5:28,29) What this can mean for you is the real hope of being reunited with your dead loved ones. May the precious promise of the resurrection hope give you a measure of peace. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

To the family I tried so hard to be at Arlindas wake, too smile with the family and be a part of Arlindas celebration of life as I am sure she would have wanted from us all…to celebrate her life for she now is a beautiful angle looking down on us! Protecting us…in waiting she will walk the golden streets as she now takes us all under her wings all the way smiling with no more pain and suffering.Thank you Arlinda for just being you and most of all thank you for being my friend you will be missed always.So so sorry goes out to the family as well as many prayers.
