Katherine Elizabeth Paape, 90, of Arden, died Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the John F. Keever, Jr Hospice Solace Center.
A native of Waunakee, WI, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Gertrude Noltner Kopp.
Katherine was a member of St. Barnabas Roman Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband of over 68 years, Robert Arne Paape; one daughter, Katherine "Kathy" Jean Gibbs and her husband, Monte, of Ames, IA; one son, Thomas Paape and his wife, Debbie, of Asheville; one sister, Gertrude Severson of Middleton, WI; step grandchildren, step-great grandchildren as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
A prayer service will he held at 6:00 PM on Friday, September 7, 2012 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
The family graciously requests that memorial contributions be made in Katherine's memory to the John F. Keever Solace Center c/o CarePartners Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.

So sorry to hear about Katherine’s passing.
Thoughts are with Bob and the rest of the family.
Katherine was a very special person indeed. She will be missed. I will never forget when my shy little Chase crawled up on her lap and watched the birds outside the window with her for the longest time. That is such a sweet memory. So sorry for your loss Debbie and Tom.

As a young girl growing up in Wi. I have the fondest memories of my dear Aunt Katherine. The times I was blessed to visit with her in Ft. Myers and Arden bring such joyful thoughts to me now. Her smile and love for life I will always remember. Love to my dear Uncle Bob, Tom, Debbie, Kahy and Monte.
We are so sorry for your loss. She was a special lady and I know she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

You have our deepest sympathy. We have so many wonderful memories of time spent with Katherine. Meeting for dinner near their cottage in Three Lakes to our special times our families shared in Fort Myers as well as Ashville We have lost a very special woman but heaven has gained an angel. Katherine was an amazingly kind and caring woman who exuded class and virtuosity. She served as a shining example of God’s teachings and I am so glad I knew her and my children saw such a wonderful role model.
Katherine was truly an amazing woman and will be missed by many. I will never meet a more caring person during my lifetime. All of my thoughts and prayers are with you Bob.

Katie was such a special lady, Aunt, Godmother, sister, wife and Mother. She had such a kind heart and was so loving. All the Paliganoff and Severson Family are praying for Uncle Bob and the Family during this time of sorrow.
I consider myself so blessed to have had Katherine in my life. I have so many fond memories of her, and will never forget how incredibly kind-hearted and caring she was.
