Kathleen Hipps Gooch, 94, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021, at her home.

Mrs. Gooch was born January 17, 1927, in Buncombe County to the late William Edward and Gertrude Bridges Hipps. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Gooch, Jr., and her siblings, Hilda Corn, Mary Murray, Frances Inez Ownbey, Charles Hipps and Herman Hipps.

Mrs. Gooch retired from Swannanoa Laundry and she was a senior member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She greatly enjoyed reading all of Billy Graham’s books.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Gruber and her husband Dennis; her beloved granddaughter, Amanda Fox, her brother, Ray Hipps and his wife Carolyn and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Rendell Hipps and the Rev. Dr. Ronnie Owen officiating.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 200 Mt. Carmel Road, Asheville, NC 28806.
