Kathleen Marie Schroeck Slezak

Kathleen Marie Schroeck Slezak, 90, of Asheville, NC, died on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at the St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Guttenberg, NJ, Mrs. Slezak was a daughter of the late John and Kathleen Cecilia Conroy Schroeck. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, John Martin Guth. Mrs. Slezak had worked for many years as a type-setter at Fairleigh Dickinson University, in Hackensack, NJ. In her spare time, she loved listening to Frank Sinatra. Mrs. Slezak is survived by her husband, John Slezak; daughters, Kathleen Johnson and husband Michael, and Candice Guth and husband David Pogel; sister, Ann Weyhausen and husband Wilbur; brother, Richie Schroeck; grandchildren, M.J. Johnson and Shawn Johnson; and great-grandchildren, Nathan, Kayla, Colleen, and Kelly. A memorial service for Mrs. Slezak will be held at a later date. Her family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Cancer Research Institute, One Exchange Plaza, 55 Broadway, Suite 1802, New York, NY 10006, in Kathleen Slezak's memory.
