Kathryn Shoffner Henderson, 77, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at her home.
A native of Buncombe County, Mrs. Henderson was a daughter of the late Carl and Kathryn Shoffner, and she was married to the late William "Jerry" Henderson. She was also preceded in death by five siblings and she formerly worked with the Bussmann Corporation.
Surviving are daughters, Margo Goldsmith and Jennifer Holcombe, 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren as well as Club Sisters.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ronald Johnson and CarePartners Hospice Staff for their compassionate care.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 2, at Trinity Baptist Church Chapel, 216 Shelburne Road, Asheville, NC 28806.

Margo and Jennifer, I will miss your mother very much. Especially at our family gatherings. I am so thankful we got to spend some time together at Charlotte’s recent birthday party. She was a special lady and I will miss her very much.

Kathy was a wonderful friend to me. We finished high school together and have remained friends all these years. I loved her dearly. She, Mary Jo Jarvis, and I ate lunch together every month. I am going to miss these lunches and her. She was such a wonderful person.
What a sweetheart Kathy was. She was kind and loving. She was a mom I remembered from my childhood and always had time to chat. She will be missed. Prayers and love for Margo, Jennifer and family!

Heartfelt condolences to Jennifer and Margo and to all Kathy’s family and friends, for I know that Kathy was an inspiration and a faithful friend to all who knew her. I will miss the times we shared – the fun and laughter, sorrows and pain, but most of all I will miss sharing the sweet anticipation of an ever better tomorrow that accompanied our every good-bye. She was truly the eternal optimist – beautiful through and through.

Went all through grade school, Jr. High and High School with Kathy. Spent many overnight slumber parties and special times as young girls. We were good friends. We are the same age. Beautiful girl in her youth and remained beautiful over the years. I am thinking of her children as I am writing this and wishing them as much comfort as possible. Live in another state, will not be able to attend services. Will be with Kathy in spirit on April 2.
Margo & Jennifer, Our sympathy goes out to you both as we know losing parents are hard especially mothers. Aunt Kathy was so good to me growing up and I remember her famous ribbon candy at Christmas! Our thoughts and prayers are with you & your families.
