  1. Furman & Family,

Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Furman, you and Katie opened your hearts, as well as your home to me. For that kindness, I have always been grateful. I wish circumstances were different and that I could have visited more often, for you both are forever dear to me. I know there is but one thing that can comfort you, your family and friends at this time and that is that Katie was saved and blessed. That she is at this very moment in the arms of Our Heavenly Father and is now complete in His Presence. I pray for you to feel His strength at this time, and on the road ahead. All my love.

    Colleen

  2. We love this family! Thank God for bringing us together! ‘If in this life only we had hope, in Christ, we would be of all men most miserable’.

    In loving memory,Tim & JoAnn

  3. Katie was more than a sister-in-law, she was a friend. I have needed her many times just to listen and although her own concerns may have been heavy on her shoulders, she listened, she comforted me, and I know she prayed. My sweetest thought of her now is that she is breathing heavens clear and fragrant air! What a Morning! Her first day in heaven!

  4. Dear family of Kati: she was a precious lady, one whom her husband loved dearly and spoke of with pride. She,no doubt will be greatly missed. God is a God of all comfort and He has you in His arms at this time.I know all of you will lean upon Him for strength.God bless you.

  5. Katie was like a mother to more than just her family. She helped raise many a young lad from the cove who admired her wisdom and beauty.

  10. The Lord has taken one of his angels back to heaven. Mrs. Wilson was a wonderful lady I became acquainted with when she brought her pets to Candler Veterinary Clinic. I did not know of her illness until very recently, and it saddened me. But she is now in a far better place and free of pain. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers, and may God give you the strength to deal with your loss. God bless you all.

  11. Furman, Me and Kenneth are so sorry, but we know Katie is in a better place and not suffering anymore. I know you will have many dark days ahead, but with God’s help, you will prevail. We want you to know we are here if you need us. Again, we are so sorry. Katie was so sweet and had such a great sense of humor. We are so glad we got to know her. We love you and May God Bless you at this very difficult time.

  12. Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For Thou art with me, thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me!

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, Furman.

    Nellie Payne, Patsy and Michael.

  13. My heart breaks for you, Furman, and Katie’s children in this great loss, and also for the many of us whose lives Katie touched for so long. She always had a willing ear and an understanding, loving heart. Her advice was sound and wise, and gentle if she thought it was not what I expected to hear. Such hard working hands, yet so gentle. She will always be an inspiration in so many ways. Her fearlessness facing death, and her readiness to go home has made Heaven an even sweeter place for me to look forward to. I will always love Katie.

  14. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of sorrow, as you have always been with us through ours.

  15. Furman & family: We just want you all to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers during this time and the days ahead. May God wrap his loving arms around you and give you peace and comfort from above. We love you.

I am so very sorry to learn of Katie’s passing. I know no words I can offer can comfort you because the loss is so great. The only comfort that can sustain each of you during this time is that of your faith. I am so thankful that my brother Jim has been given the privilege of not only knowing Katie for so many years, but also of having been given the chance to be one of her sons-in-law. You are a close and strong family and that is rare to find in this day. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with each of you in the coming days and months.

    Love always,
    Catherine Hopper, Jim’s sister

  26. Two words come to mind when I think of Katie. ‘Sweet’ and ‘Lady.’ She was the sweetest person anyone could ever meet, and oh, such a lady. If all young women could take a lesson from her life, we would have a greater nation and certainly stronger families. May God bless and strengthen her wonderful husband Furman and her precious children. Our consolation: Katie is home with our FATHER and we will see her again one day.
