KayeDarlene Kegarise, 93, of Arden, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, March 7, 2016, at Elizabeth House.
A native of Euclid, Ohio, she was born March 4, 1923, to the late Lillian Smits and John Li Pira. She was a machinist and loved fishing in Lake Erie. A lover of music and art, she was an avid photographer and danced with the USO and within her community. She loved gardening, animals and above all else, Jesus Christ.
She moved to North Carolina in 2011 to be close to the family she loved and treasured. She spent her later days at CarePartners Adult Day Services in Asheville laughing it up with her friends and loving staff.
She is survived by her niece, Gail Green; great nieces, Kelly Pittman, and husband Jack Pittman; Barbara Laycock; Mary Watkins, and fiancé, Steven Hyatt; 11 great-great nephews and 8 great-great nieces.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 13, at Skyland United Methodist Church, 1984 Hendersonville Road, Asheville. The family will receive friends at 1:30 p.m. A reception will follow at the Green residence.
