Keith Evan Marlowe, 61, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023 at his residence after a courageous 3 year battle with brain cancer.

Keith was born in Asheville to Carolyn Sue Stikeleather Marlowe and the late Roy Weldon Marlowe. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy “James” Marlowe and a baby brother, Phillip and a sister, Theresa.

Keith’s whole career was as a radiation therapist which highlighted his compassion and empathy. He started at Mission Hospital, his career took him to Macon, GA, Atlanta, GA and back to Asheville to GenesisCare. Keith had many loves that filled his and Rick’s life, they loved traveling and taking adventures together, remodeling their homes, listening to music and watching movies, vacationing at the beach and adding to their many collections. Keith had a great sense of humor with a quick wit. His smile lit up any room he was in. He was an excellent grandfather and uncle and loved his family with all his heart.

He is survived by his husband of 32 years, Richard “Rick” Dunham; his mother, Sue Marlowe; a brother, Scott Marlowe (Missie); stepson, Jeremy Dunham (Robyn); several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and grandson, Carter Dunham.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian.

A memorial service will follow the next day on Saturday at 2:00 pm at the funeral home, with a livestream starting at 1:50 PM on this page (see just below the obituary text for a link to the stream). A private interment will take place at a later date by the family.
