Kenneth L. Williams, 66, of 1 Salola Street, Asheville, died Friday, January 28, 2000.

Mr. Williams was born in Burke County and was an Army veteran. He retired in 1993 from Stroup Sheet Metal Works, Inc. and he was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter Melinda Parker and a grandson Christopher Parker, both in 1996, and by a brother Max Williams in 1994.

Surviving are his wife, Araminta (Ara) Fearing Williams; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Michele Williams of Asheville; a grandson, Michael David Williams; a sister, Jerlene Epley of Morganton; and two brothers, Ben Williams of Asheville and Bruce Williams of Morganton.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday at West Asheville Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Lewis and the Rev. Dr. James H. Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Pisgah View Memorial Park.

His family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service and request that memorials be made to the Building Fund of West Asheville Baptist
