Kenneth Lloyd Jamerson, 80, of Kingsport, TN died on Monday, April 5, 2010, at Greystone Health Care Center, Blountville, TN. A native of Buncombe Co., Mr. Jamerson was a son of the late Loyd and Naomi Mary Taylor Jamerson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Russell Jamerson, who died in 1991. Mr. Jamerson was a member of Airport Christian Church, in Blountville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Jamerson, of Asheville; sons, Kenny Jamerson and wife Sandy, of Glen Burnie, MD, and Kevin Jamerson and wife Renée, of Port Republic, MD; brothers, Bruce Jamerson and wife Shirley, of Charlotte, and Bob Jamerson and wife Pauline, of Leicester; seven grandchildren, Crystal Jamerson Robinson, Joshua Lee Ellis, Wayne Richard Wright, Amberlea Kristine Flick, Chelsea Nichole Jamerson, Brian Michael Jamerson, and David Kenneth Jamerson; and six great-grandchildren, Alicia Renée Robinson, Brittany Leigh Robinson, Hailey Michele Robinson, Jacob Trent Cutshall-Ellis, Destiny Cheyenne Ellis, and Chloe Cheyenne Ellis. A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. with the Rev. Ryan Starr officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

  7. Dear Jamerson Family, I was so sorry to hear of Ken’s passing. The last time I saw Bobby and Pauline they told me he was ill. My sympathy and prayers go out to all the family. Sorry I cannot be there to tell you in person. I am presently out of the state.

  8. To Ken’s family: I only found out today (Sunday) of Ken’s passing and I’m so sorry to hear it. I have known him for many years because we both were part of the Renaissance Players, the senior theater group, at the Kingsport TN Senior Center.
    In one of the last plays we did together, he played my son whose name was Royce. I shall miss him.
