  5. Dear Mrs. Lawson,
We extend our sympathies at the death of your husband. He was a good neighbor and friend.

  6. Debbie, Kim, and Cindy – My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. I remember many happy times with your family when we were children. I remember the first time we visited you all at your vacation home on Jonas Ridge and we weren’t sure which house was yours. We were coming up to the house yelling for you all… and your dad came out saying we sounded like dying cows. I thought it was hilarious. I also remember when my dad (Don Jones) was working with your dad at Jonas Ridge and we all saw a mouse. Your dad threw a hammer at it and killed it as all 6 kids (the three of you, my brothers Jeff and David and I) screamed bloody murder. Crazy the things you remember, isn’t it? I think of all of you often because my parents live in Linville now and I pass through Jonas Ridge often! Remember the fun times and that your dad loved you! A friend from long ago… Donna Jones Miller

  7. Debbie, Cindy, and Kim — and the rest of the family that we did not have the privilege of knowing….

We were so very saddened to read of Ken’s passing. We have not lived in Asheville for 7 years so had lost touch and did not realize he had been ill.

Our years at Merrimon Avenue Baptist with Ken as our pastor and with him and his family as special friends were among our happiest years. Ken was a great preacher, a faithful minister.. (if we missed church, we could count on a call or visit from him that very Sunday afternoon!) and times with you children and your mom are among our best memories.

Our sympathies are with you at this time.

    Don and Gladys
